WHAT IS DSOCC #12?
DSOCC is graded under ISRI Standard #12 - specially sorted to be free of boxboard, offshore corrugated, plastic, and wax. Prohibitive materials may not exceed 0.5-1%. Outthrows plus prohibitives combined may not exceed 2%.
In EN 643, DSOCC #12 is equivalent to Corrugated Board (OCC 95/05) - grade code 1.05.01.
DSOCC commands a price premium over standard OCC (ISRI #11) because of its cleaner composition and consistent quality - preferred furnish for linerboard and containerboard mills producing premium grades.
WHO BUYS DSOCC?
Paper mills in China, India, Vietnam, South Korea, and Indonesia producing linerboard and corrugating medium are the primary buyers of North American DSOCC. European containerboard mills also source North American DSOCC when domestic supply is tight.
NY-origin DSOCC is well-positioned for export to Atlantic ports in Europe, India, and West Africa.
