Writing and printing paper is one of the largest categories in the global paper trade - from standard copier paper to premium coated and uncoated printing papers. This post explains the main grades and global trade flows active on the world's first Circular Industry Cloud.
THE MAIN GRADES
Copier Paper - standard office printing, A4 or Letter, 70-80 gsm. Highest-volume grade globally. Used in offices, schools, and institutions.
Uncoated Woodfree (UWF) - high-quality printing paper without surface coating. Books, forms, envelopes, stationery. Chemical pulp, no mechanical wood.
Coated Free Sheet (CWF) - woodfree paper with mineral surface coating on one or both sides, gloss or matte finish. Commercial printing, catalogues, annual reports, premium brand materials.
Bond Paper - lightweight writing paper. Forms, letterhead, documentation. Widely specified in North America and Latin America.
GLOBAL TRADE FLOWS
India is the fastest-growing writing and printing paper exporter in Asia, with significant capacity in copier paper and uncoated grades for the Middle East, Africa, and Southeast Asia.
North America generates significant excess stock in CWF and specialty printing grades. This material finds buyers in Asia and the Middle East through secondary market channels.
Europe exports premium CWF and specialty paper grades to global markets, with Scandinavian and Central European mills supplying Asia-Pacific buyers.
EPR AND RECYCLED CONTENT
EPR mandates in the EU, UK, and across Asia are creating demand for recovered writing and printing paper grades as mill furnish for recycled content paper production.
The world's first Circular Industry Cloud covers all of these grades - new supply, excess stock, and recovered material. Register at inacsys.com. Starter plan at no charge.
