Yesterday we introduced Kiwi AI - the grade intelligence layer built into Inacsys. Today, more specifically: what does the platform actually know?
THE GRADE DATABASE
Inacsys has built its grade taxonomy from the two most widely recognised classification systems in the recyclable materials trade:
For paper grades: the ISRI (Institute of Scrap Recycling Industries) Scrap Specifications Circular - the standard reference for the North American and global recovered paper trade - and EN 643, the European standard for paper and board for recycling, published by CEPI. Together these cover the grades that the global paper recyclables market actually trades.
For plastics: the chemistry-based polymer taxonomy - polyolefins, vinyl thermoplastics, engineering thermoplastics, and their grade variants - mapped against the RIC codes that processors and recyclers use in daily trade. Both the technical grade name and the market name that buyers and sellers actually use are in the system.
WHAT THIS MEANS IN PRACTICE
When you select OCC-11 on Inacsys, Kiwi AI knows it is Old Corrugated Containers to ISRI Grade 11 specification - the domestic bale spec, with the contamination tolerance, the prohibited materials list, the moisture limit, and the standard end uses. A buyer looking at your listing does not need to ask what OCC-11 is.
When you select HDPE natural bales, Kiwi AI knows the density range, the typical form factor, the standard contamination thresholds, and that buyers in different markets may call this HDPE-N, high-density polyethylene natural, or RIC-2 natural. All of those synonyms are in the system.
When you create an RFQ for DSOCC - Double Sorted OCC --the RFQ is described in terms that generators who trade this grade will immediately recognise.
THE FOUNDING MEMBER ADVANTAGE
Founding members who list their material from September 5 are the first participants to create grade-accurate listings that the platform can match against incoming buyer demand. The grade intelligence layer works both ways - it helps listings find buyers, and it helps buyer RFQs find matching supply.
The data that founding members' listings and RFQs generate is the intelligence layer that makes every subsequent match more accurate.
14 days of founding access remaining. Platform goes live September 5, 2026 globally.
